Jean-Pascal van Ypersele
Jean-Pascal van Ypersele has a PhD in Physics. He is a professor at the Catholic University of Louvain and a member of the Royal Academy of Belgium.
As a climatologist, he is specialised in climate-change modelling and in the study of the impact of human activities on climate. He is the author of several publications on climate, notably on the economic and geographic implications of climate change and on sustainable development.
Since 1993, he has been a member of the Belgian Federal Council for Sustainable Development where he chairs its Working Group on "Energy and Climate". He has been the climate advisor for the Belgian delegations to a dozen United Nations conferences.
Jean-Pascal van Ypersele is vice-president of the IPCC.
